For the Cookie Dough

  • 1 cup unsalted butter Browned
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat until browned and nutty in aroma. Let it cool slightly.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the browned butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the butter mixture until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them 2 inches apart.

Baking

  • Bake the cookies for 10 to 12 minutes until golden at the edges, but still soft in the center.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a couple of minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For serving, consider pairing with vanilla ice cream, fresh berries, chocolate sauce, or whipped cream. To store, keep in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze for up to three months. Reheat in the oven at 350°F for about 5 minutes.
