Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Add-ins

  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional) Optional for added texture.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a medium bowl, combine rolled oats, all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir until well mixed.
  • In another larger bowl, cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the egg and vanilla extract to the buttery mix. Stir well until fully incorporated.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture. Stir until you have a thick cookie dough.
  • Gently fold in chocolate chips and, if desired, chopped nuts.

Baking

  • Spoon small balls of dough onto a baking sheet, leaving space for spreading.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until cookies are golden.
  • Let them cool on a wire rack.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container for up to one week in the fridge or about three months in the freezer. Warm in the oven or air fryer to crisp up.
