Ingredients
  

For the Cookie Dough

  • 1 cup unsalted butter Browned for flavor
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs At room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional) For added crunch

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat until it turns golden brown, then remove it from heat and let it cool.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the brown butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar, stirring until smooth.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, stirring until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips and optional chopped nuts.
  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto baking sheets lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each.

Baking

  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden. The centers may look soft.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to a week in the fridge or two weeks in the freezer. To reheat, place in the oven or air fryer for a few minutes.
