Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey mix of dark and white meat
  • ¼ cup breadcrumbs or almond flour for keto version
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 ripe avocados diced
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • ¼ cup red onion finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro chopped
  • 1 lime juiced

Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs (or almond flour), egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Form mixture into 4 equal-sized patties without overworking the meat.
  • Heat a lightly oiled skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  • Cook turkey burgers for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • In a separate bowl, gently combine diced avocados, tomatoes, red onion, cilantro, and lime juice to make the salsa.
  • Season avocado salsa with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve turkey burgers topped with avocado salsa. Skip the bun or use lettuce wraps for keto.

Notes

For extra flavor, mix a teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce into the turkey mix. Make it keto by swapping breadcrumbs for almond flour and skipping the bun. Serve with a side of leafy greens or roasted cauliflower.
