Ingredients
  

For the Rolls

  • 1 tablespoon water, warmed to about 105-115°F
  • 6 tablespoons granulated sugar, divided
  • 1 packet active dry yeast (2 ¼ teaspoons)
  • 1 cup whole milk, warmed to about 105-115°F
  • 7 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted, divided
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 3 ½ cups bread flour

For the Cinnamon Honey Butter

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons confectioners' sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

Activation

  • Start by warming your water to about 105-115°F. Combine the warmed water, 1 tablespoon of sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.

Dough Preparation

  • Warm the milk to the same temperature as the water. In a large bowl, mix the activated yeast mixture with melted butter, remaining sugar, salt, and the egg. Stir together gently.
  • Gradually add the bread flour, mixing until a dough forms. Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Rising and Baking

  • Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, until doubled in size.
  • After rising, punch down the dough and divide into 12-15 equal pieces. Shape into balls and place in a greased baking dish. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F. Bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Brush with melted butter once out of the oven.

Cinnamon Honey Butter

  • In a small bowl, combine softened butter, confectioners' sugar, honey, and cinnamon. Blend until creamy and smooth.
  • Serve the cinnamon honey butter with warm rolls.

Notes
