  • 4 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips For melting
  • 1/4 cup butter For melting with chocolate
  • 1 cup strawberry cake mix For coating
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar For coating
  • 1 cup dried strawberries
  • 1/2 cup strawberries For garnish

Preparation

  • Melt the white chocolate and butter together in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth (about 1-2 minutes).
  • In a large bowl, place the Rice Chex cereal and pour the melted chocolate mixture over it. Stir gently to coat.
  • In a separate large plastic bag, combine the strawberry cake mix and powdered sugar.
  • Add the chocolate-coated cereal to the bag, seal it, and shake well to coat the cereal.
  • Open the bag and add the dried strawberries, mixing gently.
  • Spread the mixture onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and let it cool for 10-15 minutes.
  • Slice fresh strawberries and sprinkle over the cooled puppy chow for garnish.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week or freeze for 1-2 months. To refresh, heat in the oven at 200°F for 5-10 minutes.
