Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb sirloin steak Choose a fresh cut for best flavor.
  • 1 cup queso cheese (Monterey Jack or cheddar) Choose your favorite cheese.
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice Can substitute with brown rice (adjust cooking time).
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 bell pepper, diced Any color you prefer.
  • 2 tbsp olive oil For cooking the steak.
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Dice the onion and bell pepper, and mince the garlic.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Sear the steak for 4 to 5 minutes on each side until browned. Remove and let it rest.
  • In the same skillet, sauté the diced onion and bell pepper for 3 to 4 minutes until softened.
  • Stir in the cooked rice along with paprika, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until heated through.
  • Gradually add the queso cheese and stir until melted.
  • Slice the rested steak into thin strips and combine with the queso rice.

Serving

  • Serve the Steak and Queso Rice hot on colorful plates. Top with fresh cilantro, sour cream, and avocado.

Storing

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge and consume within 3 to 4 days.

Variations

  • You can substitute sirloin with chicken or shrimp, add corn or black beans, or throw in jalapeños for extra spice!
