Ingredients

  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups chocolate chips semi-sweet or your favorite kind

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, cream the softened butter with granulated and brown sugars until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them apart.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are lightly golden and centers look slightly underbaked.
  • Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

These cookies are all about that gooey center and crispy edge combo don’t overbake them! For a decadent twist, try mixing in chopped dark chocolate or swirling a bit of Nutella into the dough. Serve with ice cream for the ultimate dessert.
