Ingredients
  

For the cookie dough

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  • In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt, then whisk together.
  • Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the butter mixture.
  • Stir in the rolled oats and chocolate chips.
  • Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.

Baking

  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until edges are golden brown.
  • Cool on wire racks.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to one week. Freeze for up to three months. Reheat in a 350°F oven for about 5 minutes or an air fryer for about 3 minutes.
