  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips Feel free to add more if desired

Baking Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Melt the butter over medium heat in a saucepan, stirring occasionally until it turns golden brown with a nutty aroma, then cool slightly.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the brown butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar; mix until blended.
  • Add the vanilla extract and eggs to the mixture, then beat until smooth.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt, then gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Drop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto a lined baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden brown, slightly underdone in the center.
  • Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week in the fridge or three months in the freezer. Reheat at 350°F for a few minutes or in an air fryer for 3-5 minutes for a fresh taste. Consider serving warm with ice cream or drizzled with chocolate for added sweetness.
