Ingredients
  

For the Cookie Dough

  • 1 cup unsalted butter Melted and browned
  • 1 cup brown sugar Packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • Sea salt for sprinkling

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat until golden brown with a nutty aroma.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the brown butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing gently until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto lined baking sheets, space them apart.
  • Sprinkle sea salt on top of each cookie dough ball.

Baking

  • Bake cookies in the oven for 10-12 minutes, until edges are set and lightly golden.
  • Let the cookies cool on baking sheets for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week or freeze for longer storage. Re-crisp by baking at 350°F for a few minutes.
