Ingredients
  

For the cake batter

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs

For the peanut butter filling

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For topping

  • 1 cup Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, chopped

Instructions
 

Preheat and Prepare

  • First, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Next, grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Mix Cake Batter

  • In a large bowl, mix the chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs until well combined.
  • Pour the cake batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly across the bottom.

Make the Peanut Butter Filling

  • In a separate bowl, combine the peanut butter, softened cream cheese, melted butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.

Swirl It Together

  • Drop spoonfuls of the peanut butter mixture over the cake batter and swirl gently with a knife.

Add the Sweet Extras

  • Sprinkle the chopped Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups over the top.

Bake the Cake

  • Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean.
  • Allow the cake to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Store leftover cake in the refrigerator for up to five days or freeze for up to three months. Reheat in the oven or air fryer at 350°F for about 10 minutes.
