Quick Thai Chicken Lettuce Wraps

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil Can substitute with olive oil if needed.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp grated ginger
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce Adjust sauce level to preference.
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce Adjust for sweetness if desired.
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 medium red bell pepper, finely diced
  • 3 green onions, sliced
  • 1/4 cup chopped peanuts Can substitute with crushed cashews or sunflower seeds.
  • 1 head butter lettuce, leaves separated Best served fresh.
  • to taste lime wedges, for serving Adds flavor when squeezed over wraps.

Cooking

  • Heat the sesame oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the skillet. Cook for about a minute until fragrant.
  • Toss in the ground chicken. Cook it while breaking it up with a spatula until it’s fully cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Stir in the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, and red bell pepper. Let this cook together for 2 to 3 minutes until everything is glossy and well-coated.
  • Remove the skillet from the heat and mix in the sliced green onions.
  • Spoon the chicken mixture into the separated lettuce leaves. Top each wrap with chopped peanuts for that extra crunch.
  • Serve with lime wedges on the side.

Notes

Serve everything family-style for a fun dining experience. Store leftovers in an airtight container and keep lettuce separate to avoid sogginess. Reheat chicken mixture as needed.
