  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 large egg

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  • Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the rolled oats, flour, baking soda, and salt together until combined.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until no flour is visible.
  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips.

Baking

  • Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough onto a lined baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  • Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

To keep your cookies fresh, store in an airtight container. They can last up to a week in the fridge and up to three months in the freezer. Reheat at 350°F for a few minutes or in an air fryer for crispiness.
