  • 1/2 lb Italian sausage
  • 1/2 lb pepperoni

Pasta and Sauce

  • 12 oz pasta (like rotini or penne)
  • 2 cups marinara sauce

Cheese Ingredients

  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese Freshly grated is recommended.
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese Alternately, cottage cheese can be used.
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese Freshly grated makes a difference.

Seasonings

  • to taste pepper
  • a splash olive oil For cooking.

Instructions
 

Cooking the Meat

  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat until shimmering.
  • Add the ground beef and Italian sausage, cooking until browned, stirring occasionally.

Mixing the Ingredients

  • Stir in the marinara sauce and cooked pasta until well coated.
  • Spoon dollops of ricotta cheese and top with mozzarella and Parmesan.

Final Cooking

  • Cover the skillet and cook on low heat until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Add pepperoni slices on top and cook for a few more minutes.
