Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the creamed mixture.
  • Fold in the rolled oats and chocolate chips until evenly distributed.

Baking

  • Drop spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets, leaving space between each.
  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until golden brown and slightly firm to the touch.
