  • 250 g egg noodles or your choice of noodles
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup water or beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes optional
  • 2 stalks green onions, sliced
  • to taste sesame seeds for garnish optional

Preparation

  • Cook the noodles according to the package instructions. Drain them and set aside.
  • In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  • Add the ground beef into the skillet and cook until browned and cooked through, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  • Add the minced garlic and ginger, sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, brown sugar, and water or beef broth.
  • Pour the sauce mixture into the skillet with the beef, stirring to combine, and let it cook for 3-5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  • If desired, add crushed red pepper flakes and stir to combine.
  • Toss the cooked noodles into the skillet and gently mix until the noodles are well-coated with the sauce and beef.
  • Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if using. Ready to serve!

Notes

Serve in bowls or on plates, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds. For a cozy vibe, consider setting the table with candles or flowers. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days; reheat before serving. Feel free to substitute vegetables or proteins to customize the dish.
