  • 2 large large sweet onions Sliced into thick rings.
  • 1 cup pizza sauce Feel free to use pre-made.
  • 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella Cheese can be substituted.
  • 0.5 cup mini pepperoni Optional; can be swapped with veggies.

Seasoning Ingredients

  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder Essential for flavor.
  • 0.5 tsp Italian seasoning Can be substituted with taco seasoning.
  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan For topping.

Garnish

  • to taste Chopped parsley For serving.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Slice the onions into thick rings and separate the larger rings for the base.
  • Arrange the onion rings on the baking sheet to form rings.

Building the Layers

  • Spoon pizza sauce into each ring generously.
  • Top each ring with mozzarella cheese, ensuring edges are covered.
  • Add mini pepperoni on top of the cheese.
  • Sprinkle garlic powder and Italian seasoning, followed by Parmesan.

Baking

  • Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and onions are tender.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley once cooled and serve with extra pizza sauce for dipping.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes for best texture.
