  • 4 small small chicken breasts or 8 chicken tenders Use chicken tenders for quicker cooking.
  • 8 slices bacon Regular or turkey bacon can be used.
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce Choose your preferred flavor.

Seasoning

  • 1 tbsp brown sugar Adds sweetness.
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika For smoky flavor.
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder Essential for flavor.
  • to taste Salt and black pepper Adjust according to preference.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease a baking dish.
  • Season the chicken lightly with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and garlic powder.
  • Wrap each piece of chicken with a slice of bacon, seam-side down in the baking dish.
  • In a small bowl, mix half of the barbecue sauce with the brown sugar, and brush this mixture onto the wrapped chicken.

Cooking

  • Bake in the oven for 20 minutes.
  • Brush the remaining barbecue sauce over your chicken and bake for an additional 10 to 15 minutes until the bacon is crisp and the chicken reaches 165°F.
  • Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Pair the chicken with roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad. Drizzle extra barbecue sauce on the side. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days. For reheating, use the oven to maintain crispiness.
