  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Line your baking sheets with parchment paper.

Creaming the Butter and Sugars

  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar for 2-3 minutes until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  • Scrape down the sides of the bowl to ensure everything mixes well.

Adding Eggs and Vanilla

  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Mix in the pure vanilla extract until smooth.

Mixing the Dry Ingredients

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.

Folding in the Oats and Add-Ins

  • Gently fold in the rolled oats, semi-sweet chocolate chips, and chopped pecans until evenly distributed.

Forming the Cookies

  • Drop the dough by tablespoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Baking Time

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden and the centers look slightly underdone.

Cooling the Cookies

  • Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For serving ideas, serve warm with ice cream, pair with fresh fruits, drizzle with sauces, or top with whipped cream. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week; freeze for up to three months. Reheat in the oven or air fryer to restore crispiness.
