  • 1 can canned tuna, drained
  • 2-3 tablespoons gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1-2 tablespoons mayonnaise Can be replaced with Greek yogurt for a healthier option.
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar or honey
  • 1 clove garlic, minced (optional) Add for an extra kick.
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar (optional)
  • 1 piece green onion, finely sliced
  • to taste sesame seeds for garnish
  • to taste salt and pepper

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Drain the tuna from the can and place it in a bowl. Ensure to remove all excess water.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together gochujang, mayonnaise, sesame oil, soy sauce, and sugar or honey until smooth. Optionally, add minced garlic.
  • Stir the sauce into the drained tuna until well coated. Mix in sliced green onion and sesame seeds. Season with salt and pepper as needed.
  • Chill in the refrigerator for 15-30 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve over steamed rice, in lettuce wraps, or as a filling for sushi rolls. The spicy tuna lasts about 3 days in the fridge and can be frozen for up to 1 month. To revive leftovers, reheat in an air fryer or oven at 350°F.
