  • 2 slices slices of bread Use whole grain or white bread.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (e.g., mozzarella or cheddar) Pre-shredded cheese melts quickly.
  • 1/2 cup fresh blueberries Frozen blueberries can be used as a substitute.
  • 1 tablespoon butter Almond butter can be used for a nutty taste.
  • to taste Honey or maple syrup Optional for drizzling.

Preparation

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add 1 tablespoon of butter and let it melt, coating the skillet evenly.

Assembly

  • Place one slice of bread in the skillet, then add half of the cup of shredded cheese on top.
  • Sprinkle 1/2 cup of fresh blueberries over the cheese, then add the remaining cheese on top and place the second slice of bread over it.

Cooking

  • Cook until the bottom slice is golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Flip the sandwich carefully and cook the other side until golden brown and the cheese is melted, about another 3-4 minutes.
  • Serve with drizzled honey or maple syrup if desired.

Notes

Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat in the air fryer or oven at 350°F for 5-7 minutes for a crunchy texture. Consider serving with a green salad, tomato soup, fresh fruit, or pickles.
