  • 1/4 cup powdered erythritol Or preferred keto sweetener; breaks up clumps before storing.
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract Use pure vanilla for the best flavor.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Balances sweetness and enhances cocoa flavor.
  • 1 cup powdered heavy cream Optional for creaminess.

Serving Ingredients

  • 2 cups water or unsweetened almond milk Water for a lighter cup; almond milk for creamier.

Mixing the Ingredients

  • In a bowl, combine the cocoa powder, erythritol, vanilla extract, salt, and optional powdered heavy cream. Mix well.
  • Use a whisk or fork to stir until the color is even and the mixture feels fine.
  • Store the mixture in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.

Preparing the Hot Chocolate

  • To prepare a cup, mix 2 tablespoons of the hot chocolate mix with 1 cup of hot water or almond milk.
  • Stir until dissolved, then enjoy your homemade keto hot chocolate.
  • For a richer cup, heat the liquid gently, whisk briefly until glossy.

Notes

For an extra indulgence, stir in a small knob of butter when serving. Can also add whipped cream or a sprinkle of cocoa for garnish. Store any unused mix in an airtight jar in the pantry for up to a month.
