  • 24 pieces Cocktail sausages Small and perfectly bite-sized
  • 1 sheet Puff pastry dough This is where the magic happens
  • 1 large Egg For egg wash

Optional Seasonings and Garnishes

  • to taste Seasoning (garlic powder, paprika, etc.) Feel free to sprinkle your favorites
  • to taste Fresh herbs or cheese sprinkles For decorative garnishes

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven according to the puff pastry package instructions, usually around 400°F (200°C).
  • Open up the puff pastry dough and roll it out on a clean surface.
  • Cut the puff pastry into strips about 1 inch wide.
  • Take a cocktail sausage and place it at the end of a pastry strip; wrap snugly.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place your wrapped sausages on it.
  • Whisk the egg to create an egg wash and brush it over the tops of the wrapped sausages.
  • Sprinkle any desired seasonings on top of the wrapped sausages.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, until golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and let them cool for a minute before serving warm.
  • Add decorative garnishes or serve with a dipping sauce if desired.

Notes

To store leftovers, let them cool completely and store in an airtight container for 2-3 days. Reheat in the oven to maintain crispiness.
