Ingredients
  

Jello Base

  • ¼ cup cold water Chilled for best results.
  • 1 tablespoon gelatin powder Unflavored gelatin works best.
  • ¼ cup very hot water Boil water and let it cool slightly.
  • cups fruit juice Your choice of juice like apple or orange.

Optional Fresh Fruits

  • 1-2 cups fresh fruit Optional; can mix various fruits.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Pour the cold water into a medium-sized mixing bowl.
  • Sprinkle the gelatin powder evenly over the top. Allow it to bloom for about a minute.
  • Stir briskly until everything is well mixed and the gelatin dissolves.
  • Add the very hot water to the mixture and stir until thinner.
  • Pour in the fruit juice and mix well.
  • If using fresh fruit, place it at the bottom of an 8x8 baking dish.
  • Pour the gelatin mixture over the fruit and give it a slight stir.
  • Refrigerate for at least 2-3 hours or overnight until set.

Serving

  • Cut into cubes or use a melon baller for serving.
  • Serve on a platter. Kids can help with the presentation.
  • Add a dollop of whipped cream or mint leaves if desired.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-5 days. Can also be frozen. When ready to eat, thaw in the fridge or enjoy frozen.
