Ingredients
  

Main ingredients

  • 2 slices wheat bread Can substitute with white bread or sourdough.
  • 1 tablespoon honey For spreading on the bread.
  • 2 slices Havarti cheese Creamy cheese that melts well.
  • 2-4 slices vine ripe tomato Adjust based on preference.
  • 2-3 leaves fresh basil Adds a fresh flavor.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Spread a thin layer of honey on each slice of bread.
  • On one slice of bread, place a slice of Havarti cheese.
  • Layer 2-4 slices of ripe tomato on top of the cheese.
  • Sprinkle 2-3 fresh basil leaves over the tomatoes.
  • Add another slice of Havarti on top of the basil, then close with the other slice of bread.

Grilling

  • Butter the outside of the bread or drizzle with olive oil, then heat a pan over medium heat.
  • Grill the sandwich until golden brown on each side, about 3-4 minutes per side.

Serving

  • Cut the sandwich diagonally and arrange on a plate.
  • Serve with a side salad, tomato soup, or chips.

Notes

Wrap leftovers tightly in foil or an airtight container. Store in the fridge for up to two days and reheat in the oven at 350°F for about 10 minutes.
