Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter Melted and browned
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups gluten-free all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips For folding into the dough

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat until it turns golden brown and has a nutty aroma. This takes about 5-7 minutes. Let it cool slightly.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, granulated sugar, and the browned butter. Mix until smooth.
  • Add the egg and vanilla extract. Whisk until fully combined.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the gluten-free flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet ingredients and stir until combined.
  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips.

Baking

  • Using a tablespoon, scoop out dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each scoop.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days, or freeze for up to three months. Reheat in the oven or air fryer for a few minutes to restore crispness.
