Ingredients

For the Glazed Salmon

  • 2 fillets Salmon fillets Skin-on for additional texture.
  • 1 tablespoon Oil For frying the salmon.
  • Salt Salt To taste.
  • Pepper Pepper To taste.

For the Honey Garlic Sauce

  • 3 tablespoons Honey
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce (or tamari) Use tamari for a gluten-free option.
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice or rice vinegar
  • 1 pinch Red pepper flakes Optional for spice.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Pat the salmon dry with paper towels to help it sear instead of steam.
  • Season both sides with salt and pepper.

Cooking

  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat with a little oil.
  • Cook the salmon skin-side down for about 4 minutes.
  • Flip the salmon and cook for another 2 minutes.
  • Add the honey garlic sauce and let it bubble for 1-2 minutes, spooning the glaze over the salmon.
  • Remove from heat and let it rest for a minute before serving.

Notes

Do not walk away once the glaze is added to prevent burning. Letting the salmon rest helps keep it juicy. Serve with quick sides like microwave rice or a bagged salad.
