Preparation

  • Clean the morel mushrooms thoroughly to remove any dirt and debris.
  • In a bowl, mix flour, salt, and pepper.
  • Dredge each morel in the flour mixture, shaking off the excess.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.

Cooking

  • Fry the coated morels until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
  • Remove from the pan and drain on paper towels.
  • Serve hot on a large platter with favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

If using leftovers, store in an airtight container in the fridge. Reheat gently in a skillet to maintain crunch. For added flavor, consider mixing in herbs or cheese into the flour.
