Ingredients
  

Brownie Base

  • 2 boxes 2 boxes (18 ounces each) brownie mix, prepared according to package instructions
  • 1/3 cup 1/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips Adds texture when folded into the batter.

Frosting

  • 1 can 1 can chocolate frosting Use high-quality store-bought or homemade.
  • 4 tablespoons 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened Real butter is recommended.
  • 1 cup 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon 1 tablespoon heavy whipping cream, plus more if needed Adjust for icing consistency.

Instructions
 

Preparing the Brownies

  • Preheat the oven to the temperature called for on the brownie mix box. Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan with butter.
  • Prepare both boxes of brownie mix together according to the package directions.
  • Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and pour the batter into the pan, smoothing the top.
  • Bake for the recommended time on the package. Check for doneness at the lower range for a fudgy texture.
  • Let the brownies cool in the pan for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for best slicing.

Making the Frosting

  • In a small bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until smooth.
  • Add the heavy whipping cream and vanilla extract, whisking until glossy.
  • Spoon the chocolate frosting into a bowl and microwave for 10-15 seconds to loosen.
  • Spread a thin layer of chocolate frosting onto each brownie shape, then pipe white icing for football stitching.

Serving and Storing

  • Arrange the brownies on a wooden board, optionally garnished with fresh mint or raspberries.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days, with parchment between layers.
