Easy Pizza Roses
Delicate pizza roses made with store-bought dough, cheese, and pepperoni, perfect for Valentine's Day or any special occasion.
Ingredients
Dough and Sauce
- 1 can pizza dough Store-bought pizza dough is convenient.
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce Classic pizza sauce; feel free to substitute.
Cheese and Toppings
- 6-8 slices mozzarella cheese Whole-milk mozzarella is recommended for creaminess.
- 12-18 slices pepperoni Can be swapped for veggies or other proteins.
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted Use real butter for the best finish.
- to taste olive oil Drizzle after baking for flavor.
- 1 handful fresh basil or parsley, chopped Adds color and freshness.
Instructions
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Lightly grease a muffin tin with cooking spray or butter.
- Unroll the pizza dough onto a clean surface and slice into six long strips, about 1-2 inches wide.
- Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce across each strip.
- Cut mozzarella cheese into slices and layer on top of the marinara sauce.
- Arrange pepperoni on top of the cheese, letting half hang off the edge.
- Roll each strip into a tight rose shape, tucking in the ends.
- Place each rolled pizza rose into the greased muffin tin.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until the dough is golden and cheese is bubbly.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving, optionally garnished with fresh basil or a drizzle of olive oil.
Notes
For a crispy finish, place muffin tin on a preheated baking sheet. Store remaining pizza roses in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Freeze unbaked roses for up to 2 months.
