  • 1 lb Ground beef Lean is preferred.
  • 1 Onion, chopped Don't chop too small.
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced Optional, adjust to taste.
  • 8 oz Mushrooms, sliced Fresh or canned.
  • 2 cups Beef broth Or use bouillon with water.
  • 1 cup Sour cream Full-fat for best flavor.
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard Essential for flavor.
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce Or soy sauce in a pinch.
  • 8 oz Egg noodles Any pasta can be used.
  • 2 tbsp Flour For thickening.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Season to preference.
  • to taste Fresh parsley, chopped For garnish.

Instructions
 

Cooking

  • Brown the ground beef in a large pan over medium heat.
  • Once the beef is browned, add the chopped onion and minced garlic.
  • Stir in the mushrooms and cook until softened.
  • If desired, skim off any excess grease from the pan.
  • Sprinkle the flour over the mixture and stir to combine.
  • Slowly pour in the beef broth while stirring to thicken.
  • Let it simmer for a few minutes to allow flavors to blend.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the sour cream, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Season with salt, pepper, and mix in chopped parsley.
  • Combine with the cooked egg noodles and serve warm.

Notes

For extra creaminess, double the sour cream. Can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or lentils for a lighter option.
