Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil For cooking the beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 head broccoli, cut into florets For stir-frying

Sauce Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch For thickening the sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger

Instructions
 

Cook the Beef

  • Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  • Add 1 pound of ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until it is browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Drain off any excess grease.

Start the Veggies

  • Add 1 small chopped onion and 2 minced cloves of garlic to the skillet.
  • Cook for about 2-3 minutes until they soften.
  • Add 1 head of broccoli cut into florets and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the broccoli is tender-crisp.

Make the Sauce

  • In a small bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup of beef broth, 1/4 cup of soy sauce, 2 tablespoons of cornstarch, 1 tablespoon of brown sugar, 1 teaspoon of sesame oil, and 1/2 teaspoon of ground ginger.
  • Pour this sauce over the beef and broccoli mixture.
  • Bring it to a simmer and cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce has thickened, about 1-2 minutes.
  • Serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days. For freezing, keep it in an airtight container for up to 3 months. Reheat using an air fryer or oven to maintain broccoli crispness.
