  • 1 pound ground beef Can substitute with turkey or plant-based option.
  • 1 can kidney beans
  • 1 can black beans
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1 cup beef broth

Preparation

  • In a large pot over medium heat, brown the ground beef. Drain excess grease.
  • Add the chopped onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic, cooking until softened.

Cooking

  • Stir in the chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  • Add the kidney beans, black beans, diced tomatoes, and beef broth.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

Feel free to add fresh corn or jalapeños for extra flavor. Letting the chili sit overnight will enhance the taste.
