  • 4 cups strawberries, halved Use fresh or frozen strawberries.
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar Can substitute with lemon juice and sugar.
  • 2 tablespoons sugar

For the Topping

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup flour Can substitute half with almond flour for a nuttier flavor.
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon Optional, can add nutmeg for extra flavor.
  • 1/4 cup cold butter, diced Can substitute with coconut oil for a dairy-free option.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  • In a large bowl, toss the halved strawberries with balsamic vinegar and sugar, ensuring they are evenly coated. Spread them out in a greased baking dish.
  • In another bowl, combine rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Mix in the cold butter until the mixture resembles crumbs.
  • Evenly sprinkle the oat topping over the strawberry mixture.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, until bubbly and the topping is lightly golden brown.

Serving

  • Let the crisp cool slightly before serving warm. Enjoy with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for the best texture. Freezing is also an option for up to 2 months.
