  • 26 oz bag of frozen homestyle meatballs No need to thaw before cooking.
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 10.5 oz can of French onion soup
  • 1 oz packet of Lipton Onion Soup Mix
  • 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese (or Swiss/Mozzarella) You can use Swiss or Mozzarella as alternatives.

Thickening Agents

  • 1-2 tbsp cornstarch Add to thicken gravy.
  • 1-2 tbsp water Mix with cornstarch.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Add the frozen homestyle meatballs directly to the Crock Pot.
  • Slice the small onion and spread it over the meatballs.
  • Pour in the can of French onion soup and sprinkle the Lipton Onion Soup Mix on top. Stir gently to combine.

Cooking

  • Cover the Crock Pot and cook on low for 4-6 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  • Before serving, sprinkle the shredded cheese on top and cover again to melt the cheese.
  • If you want to thicken the gravy, mix 1-2 tablespoons of cornstarch with an equal amount of water and add it during the last 30 minutes of cooking.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in an air fryer or oven at 350°F for 10-15 minutes to maintain crispiness. Use pre-chopped onions to save time, and consider rotisserie chicken for a faster meal.
