Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter Melted to brown
  • 1 cup brown sugar Packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs

Dry Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Mix-ins

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Melt the unsalted butter in a saucepan over medium heat until it turns golden brown and emits a nutty aroma. Remove from heat and let cool.
  • In a large bowl, mix the brown butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar until well combined.
  • Add vanilla extract and eggs to the sugar mixture and mix until smooth.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to over-mix.
  • Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.

Baking

  • Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each cookie.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are set.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.
