Meatball Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef Fresh ground beef is recommended for tenderness.
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs Can substitute with crushed crackers or oats.
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 piece egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Cranberry Sauce

  • 1 cup cranberry sauce Homemade is preferred for a personal touch.
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon mustard

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well integrated.
  • Form the mixture into small meatballs, about one inch in diameter.
  • Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 20-25 minutes until cooked through.

Cooking

  • In a saucepan over medium heat, mix the cranberry sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, and mustard. Stir until the mixture is glossy and smooth.
  • Add the cooked meatballs to the sauce and simmer for 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Serving

  • Serve warm as an appetizer, drizzling extra sauce over the top.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. They can also be frozen for up to three months. Reheat by thawing overnight and warming over low heat.
