Ingredients
  

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
  • Cream butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture; mix until just combined.
  • Fold in chocolate chips.
  • Drop spoonfuls of dough onto prepared sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
  • Bake 10–12 minutes, until edges are golden and centers are soft.
  • Cool on sheets briefly before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

For chewier cookies, chill dough before baking. Try variations with nuts or different chocolate chips for fun twists.
