Burger Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • ¼ cup white onion
  • 2-3 tablespoons frozen butter (regular or plant-based) Using fresh butter enhances flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese (finely shredded)
  • 2 teaspoons garlic (minced) Feel free to use pre-minced garlic for convenience.
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce Add more if you prefer a stronger flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon lemon zest
  • ½ teaspoon liquid smoke (optional)
  • to taste Kosher salt
  • to taste ground black pepper
  • 4 pieces hamburger buns Choose regular or gluten-free.
  • to taste Romaine lettuce
  • to taste Homemade Caesar dressing
  • to taste Parmesan cheese (shaved)
  • to taste Croutons (crushed)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Grate the white onion on a paper towel and squeeze out the excess moisture.
  • In a large bowl, combine the grated onion, frozen butter, ground chicken, mayonnaise, finely shredded parmesan cheese, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, lemon zest, and optional liquid smoke.
  • Mix until just combined and form into 4 equal patties, about ½ to ¾ inches thick, pressing down gently in the center.
  • Cover and freeze the patties for 20 minutes.

Grilling

  • Preheat the grill on medium-high and clean the grates.
  • Season the tops of the patties with kosher salt and black pepper.
  • Grill the patties for 5-6 minutes per side until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F.
  • Add cheese on top during the last 1-2 minutes of cooking if desired.
  • Remove from grill and let rest for 5 minutes.

Building the Burgers

  • Assemble your burger starting with a piece of lettuce on the bottom bun, followed by Caesar dressing, the chicken burger, more dressing, red onion, lettuce, shaved parmesan, and finally the top bun.
  • Serve immediately with your favorite side dishes.

Notes

These burgers can be enjoyed fresh or stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. Reheat gently for best results.
