  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds Start with 1 teaspoon if you're not used to fiber.
  • 12-16 ounces water Cold or room temperature.
  • 1-2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice Bottled lemon juice can be used as an alternative.
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup Optional for added sweetness.
  • pinch salt A tiny pinch to enhance flavor.

Preparation

  • Add water to a glass or jar.
  • Stir in chia seeds and lemon juice.
  • Wait for 5 minutes, then stir again really well to avoid clumps.
  • Wait another 5 to 10 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  • Drink it, then follow with another glass of water if possible.

Notes

Drink gently and avoid rushing the process to allow the chia seeds to gel properly. It's best to consume this drink as part of a balanced diet with adequate hydration throughout the day.
