  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure the butter is at room temperature.
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed Brown sugar adds moisture and flavor.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract For enhanced flavor.
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Can substitute with gluten-free flour.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Balances the sweetness.
  • 3 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup chocolate chips or raisins Optional add-in for extra flavor.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  • Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Gradually add this to the creamed mixture and stir until well combined.
  • Fold in the rolled oats and chocolate chips (or raisins) until fully incorporated.
  • Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them out.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week. You can freeze them for up to three months. To reheat, place in a 350°F oven for a few minutes or use an air fryer.
