Ingredients

  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • ¾ cup packed brown sugar
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl. Set aside.
  • In a separate bowl, beat softened butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
  • Gradually fold in dry ingredients until just combined—don’t overmix!
  • Gently stir in chocolate chips.
  • Drop spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them two inches apart.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden and centers remain soft.
  • Let cookies cool slightly on the sheet before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

For ultra-chewy texture, let the dough chill for 30 minutes before baking. Swap in white or dark chocolate chips for a flavor twist or throw in some chopped walnuts if you’re feeling fancy. Great for stuffing in your bag for a sweet surprise later!
