Seasoning

  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Optional season.

Optional Add-ins

  • 1 cup frozen vegetables Can be mixed in.
  • 1 cup sour cream or cream cheese For creamier texture.
  • 1 cup black beans and corn For a Tex-Mex variation.
  • 2 eggs cracked on top For a breakfast twist.

Preparation

  • Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain excess grease if desired.
  • Add the diced onions and cook until soft.
  • Sprinkle in the salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Mix well.
  • Incorporate your base (pasta or potatoes) into the mixture.
  • Add the tomato sauce or cream of mushroom soup for moisture.
  • Stir in some cheese into the mixture, reserving most for the topping.

Baking

  • Transfer the mixture to a baking dish, top with reserved cheese.
  • Bake in preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 20-30 minutes, or until bubbly and golden.
  • Broil for an additional minute if you like crispy bits on top.
