Ingredients
  

For the Bread

  • 1 cup unsalted butter Melted and browned
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs Added one at a time
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 ripe bananas Mashed
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans Optional

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9 x 5 inch loaf pan.
  • In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Swirl the pan occasionally for about 5-7 minutes until it turns light brown and has a nutty smell. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Mixing and Baking

  • In a large bowl, beat the cooled brown butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time and stir in vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually mix the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients until just combined.
  • Gently fold in mashed bananas and chopped nuts if using.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a wooden skewer comes out clean.
  • Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months. To reheat, use an air fryer or oven for a few minutes.
