A rich, creamy, and indulgent dessert made with devil's food cake, sweetened condensed milk, caramel, and topped with Cool Whip and crushed Heath bars.

Ingredients
  

For the cake

  • 1 box Devils food cake mix (*plus ingredients on box) Follow box instructions for additional ingredients.

For the filling and topping

  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 3/4 cup caramel syrup Can use store-bought or warmed dulce de leche.
  • 1 8oz tub Cool Whip, thawed
  • 2-3 pieces Heath candy bars, crushed Smash them in a zip-top bag or blend.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees and lightly grease a 9x13 cake pan.
  • Prepare and bake cake mix according to package directions and pour into the prepared pan.
  • Allow cake to cool after baking, then poke holes in it using a fork or wooden spoon.
  • Pour sweetened condensed milk and caramel syrup evenly over the cake.

Chilling

  • Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours to absorb the filling.
  • Before serving, spread Cool Whip over the cake and sprinkle with crushed Heath bars.

Notes

This cake can be made ahead and stored for up to 4 days in the fridge. For freezing, cut into squares and wrap tightly in plastic wrap. Thaw overnight in the fridge.
