Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure it's at room temperature
  • 1 cup brown sugar Packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional) Add for extra flavor

  • 3 cups oats
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon, if using. Gradually add to the butter mixture, stirring until just blended.
  • Gently mix in the oats and chocolate chips.
  • Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space for spreading.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until edges are golden brown.
  • Let cookies cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Freeze for up to three months. Reheat in the oven or air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for a few minutes.
