Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  • Beat in vanilla and eggs, one at a time, until fully incorporated.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  • Fold in chocolate chips.
  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
  • Bake 10–12 minutes, until edges are lightly golden.
  • Cool on baking sheets briefly, then transfer to wire racks.

Notes

For chewier cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking. Try customizing with nuts, white chocolate, or a sprinkle of sea salt on top.
