Ingredients

Pasta and Dressing

  • 12 ounces tri-color rotini pasta Any pasta shape can be used.
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise Creamy base for the dressing.
  • 1/2 cup sour cream adds tanginess.
  • 1 ounce dry ranch dressing mix For ranch flavor.

Add-ins

  • 8 slices cooked bacon, chopped Fried until crispy.
  • 1 large tomato, diced Fresh and colorful.
  • 4.25 ounces sliced black olives, drained Can be substituted with sun-dried tomatoes.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese For added richness.

Instructions

Cooking Pasta

  • Cook the rotini in boiling water for about 8 minutes until it reaches the al dente stage, then drain the pasta and rinse it under cold water.

Making the Dressing

  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sour cream, ranch dressing mix, garlic powder, and a splash of milk until everything is smooth.

Mixing Ingredients

  • Add the cooled pasta to the dressing, then gently stir in the chopped bacon pieces, tomatoes, olives, and cheddar cheese. Toss until everything is evenly coated.

Chilling the Salad

  • Cover the bowl and place it in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld together.

Notes

The flavors deepen overnight. Add more ranch dressing or a splash of milk if the salad dries out. For garnishing, fresh herbs or extra cheese can enhance the dish's appeal.
