Ingredients
  

For the Apple Fries

  • 2 large large apples Honeycrisp or Granny Smith recommended.
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs Panko gives a better crunch.
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon Add more for extra spice.
  • as needed Nonstick cooking spray

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Wash apples thoroughly. Optionally peel them, and cut into fry-like sticks, about a quarter-inch thick. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
  • Prepare three bowls: Bowl 1 for flour, Bowl 2 combine egg and milk, Bowl 3 for panko, sugar, and cinnamon.

Coating

  • Dredge each apple stick in flour, dip in the egg mixture, and roll in the breadcrumb mixture.

Cooking

  • Lightly spray the coated apple fries with nonstick spray and place them in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  • Set air fryer to 380°F (190°C) and cook for 7–9 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
  • Once golden and crispy, remove from air fryer.

Serving

  • Serve warm with caramel dip, yogurt, or whipped cream.

Notes

Keep leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days. Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 3–5 minutes.
